The Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan (FCCP) marked Earth Day by reaffirming its commitment to environmental stewardship and highlighting the importance of protecting natural resources for present and future generations.
In line with this year’s global theme, the Court emphasized the collective responsibility of institutions and individuals to adopt sustainable practices and promote environmental awareness. The Court reiterated its resolve to incorporate eco-friendly measures within its operations, including efficient resource utilization, reduction of paper consumption, and the promotion of an environmentally responsible workplace.
Honourable Chief Justice Mr. Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan emphasized that environmental protection is not only a global necessity but also a constitutional and moral obligation, encouraging individuals to adopt environmentally responsible practices in their homes and daily lives.
He further noted that safeguarding the environment is intrinsically linked to public welfare, justice, and the rule of law, and that such occasions serve as a reminder of our shared responsibilities—whether working from offices or from home.
The FCCP remains committed to supporting national and global efforts aimed at combating climate change and preserving ecological balance, in line with Pakistan’s environmental goals and international commitments.
