Finance Minister meets with ADB President Mr. Masato Kanda

Washington, D.C: April 24, 2025

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, held a meeting with Mr. Masato Kanda, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), in Washington D.C.

The Minister congratulated Mr. Kanda on assuming office earlier this year and appreciated ADB’s longstanding partnership with Pakistan and its contributions to the country’s development, including through the Country Partnership Strategy 2026-2030 and budgetary support.

The two sides discussed the project pipeline and undertook to fast-track project execution. The Minister requested ADB’s support for a partial credit guarantee for the issuance of Pakistan’s Panda bond.

He also expressed hope that budgetary support from ADB would materialize this year and assured the participation of Pakistan’s delegation in the CAREC meeting scheduled for November 2025.
