Finance Minister meets IMF Director for Middle East and Central Asia
Washington, D.C: April 25, 2025

Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb held a meeting with Mr. Jihad Azour, Director for Middle East and Central Asia at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). During the meeting, the Finance Minister thanked the IMF for reaching a Staff-Level Agreement on the first review under Pakistan’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and a new arrangement under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF).

The Finance Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to stay the course and further entrench the progress achieved over the past one and a half years.

He added that Fitch’s upgrade of Pakistan’s sovereign credit ratings was an external validation of the successful reforms undertaken by the country.
