President Mamnoon Hussain has said that Pakistan-China friendship is exemplary in the world as it enjoys complete support of the people and all institutions in both the countries.
The President said this while talking to a delegation of M/s China International Council which headed by Mr. Song Wei Dong, Secretary General of China International called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Wednesday.
The President expressed satisfaction with the progress of work on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The President appreciated the efforts of various Chinese Ministries and institutions for their commitment in implementing the different projects under the umbrella of CPEC. The President noted that the economic corridor will provide a link to deliver goods to the international markets through the Gawadar Port and generate robust business and industrial activities not only in Pakistan and China but also in the whole region.
The President stated that CPEC would also be a gateway to regional and middle-eastern countries. The President said that the completion of CPEC will bring prosperity not just in Pakistan and China but the entire region. The President stated that the people of Pakistan and history will always remember and acknowledge the contribution of Chinese workers, engineers and professionals who are involved in the completion of CPEC and other allied projects exactly in the same manner as they have affection and respect for those Chinese engineers and workers who took part in the construction of Karakoram Highway.
Mr. Song Wei Dong, Secretary General of China International thanked the President and the people of Pakistan for their warm feelings and hospitality and said all Chinese consider Pakistan as their second home.
The President wished the delegation a fruitful and productive stay in Pakistan.
