Col Gen Berdiyev Yaylym Yagmyrovich, Minister for Defence & Secretary of National Security Council of Turkmenistan along with his delegation called on Minister for Defence Production, Rana Tanvir Hussain in Ministry of Defence Production, Rawalpindi today.

Minister warmly welcomed the delegation and showed his pleasure to receive them in the office. He said that Pakistan share warm and friendly relations with Turkmenistan and mentioned that both countries have cooperation in various fields but there is need to further enhance relations in the field of defence production.

Minister stressed on the need to exchange delegations in order to increase future cooperation between the two countries. Minister expressed his desire to strengthen the relations on military technical side.

Col Gen Berdiyev Yaylym Yagmyrovich also thanked the honorable Minister for the hospitality extended to the delegation. He mentioned that he will send Commander of Land Forces to attend IDEAS-2016 on his behalf. He showed interest in the defence industry of Pakistan and asked for help in order to establish defence industry in Turkmenistan.

Minister appraised the delegation regarding different defence facilities of Pakistan. He mentioned with pride that PoF, HIT, PAC, NRTC and other defence establishment are working hard and manufacturing state of the art products.

Minister also mentioned that PAC is manufacturing fighter Aircraft JF-17 and Trainer plane super Mashshak. He further said that JF-17 fighter aircraft is an excellent aircraft and its capability is equal to F-16 and its price is 1/3^rd of the F-16 and our trainer aircraft is also popular with many countries.

Minister stressed on the need of signing of an agreement or MoU for cooperation in the field of defence production. Minister said Pakistan defence industry is available, open and ready to cooperate with their brotherly country. He said both countries can have joint ventures as well.

Col Gen Berdiyev Yaylym Yagmyrovich extended the invitation to the worthy Minister to visit Turkmenistan. He also mentioned that previously they did not have defence industry but they are looking forward to establish with the support from Pakistan.
