Minister of State for Water and Power, Ch. Abid Sher Ali eld meeting with Mr. Stephen Steinlein, State Secretary of German Federal Foreign Minister, MS Ina Lepel Ambassador of Germany and representatives of German companies of energy sector today at Islamabad. Minister of State welcomed the delegates and expressed gratitude over assistance of German government in provision of Alternative & Renewable Energy technologies, in promotion and implementation of net metering and capacity building of public sector entities.
He also highlighted that Pakistan is blessed with tremendous amount of hydro power potential and present government has planned to build new reservoirs and dams including mega and micro to obtain clean and cheap energy. The Minister also emphasised the growth of renewable energy and said renewable sources provide energy services without choking the environment.
During the meeting, Mr. Stephen Steinlien appreciated the initiatives of Pakistan government to facilitate investors in energy sector and termed the present policy the most suitable for the investors.
Minister also inaugurated the exhibition about German’s transition to green energy. While addressing the German businessmen and participant of exhibition Minister said that the present government successfully strives for sustainability, affordability and availability of energy in the country and such events would educate the participants about trends of generation of clean and green energy. Minister of State for Water and Power, Ch. Abid Sher Ali thanked the State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office Mr. Stephen Steinlein for arranging such successful event of prime importance.
