Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Mian Riaz Husain Pirzada has said that Pakistan is a sports loving country and has glorious past in sports.

He was addressing seminar on “V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, Ashgabat 2017 & Exploring Opportunities in Turkmenistan” here on Wednesday.

The Federal Minister congratulated, on behalf of the people and government of Pakistan, Ambassador of Turkmenistan Atadjan Movlamov, for hosting Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, going to be held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, in 2017-proudly called “The Pearl of Central Asia”.

He said that Pakistan will participate in these games in large number of discipline, with proper preparation of our national teams.

He further said that Pakistan and Turkmenistan enjoy deep rooted diplomatic, historic, cultural and religious ties since the time of inception of our relations.

Riaz Pirzada said Pakistan places high value to the friendship of Turkmenistan. Both States are having steady progress in their relations with no impediment in enhancing this partnership. Undoubtedly, the completion of the TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India Pipeline) project will provide a great boost, whenever it is completed. In this respect, both Pakistan and Turkmenistan join hands to bring peace and stability in the region, he added.

Riaz Pirzada assured Embassy of Turkmenistan that Pakistan will extend full cooperation to Turkmenistan to organize these games in a befitting manner.

Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan Atadjan Movlamov, Secretary General of Asian Sports Journalists Association Amjad Aziz Malik and diplomats were also present on the occasion.
