DR. SYED MUHAMMAD ANWER, CHIEF JUSTICE OF THE FEDERAL SHARIAT COURT INAUGURATES E-LIBRARY AT PRINCIPAL SEAT ISLAMABAD

The Chief Justice of the Federal Shariat Court, Mr. Justice Dr. Syed Muhammad Anwer, on Monday formally inaugurated the newly established e-library at the Court's Principal Seat in Islamabad.

The e-library provides login credentials for the Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan, Pakistan Law Site? the British Council Library and Fiqh Academy Jeddah etc., enabling access to digital legal and Islamic resources. Related Quranic and Hadith website links have likewise been made available to facilitate lawyers and litigants in obtaining Shariah references.

The Chief Justice appreciated the efforts of the concerned officials who successfully completed the establishment of the e-library. In a related development, the Court has transitioned to the e-office system. A leave dashboard and e-kiosk have also been introduced to further digitise the Court's working.

The Chief Justice underscored the importance of digital literacy across the judiciary in light of the decisions taken by the National Judicial Policy Making Committee. He observed that the effective use of technology is essential for transitioning towards an automated, efficient and responsive justice system that meets the needs of lawyers, litigants and the public.

The court is also considering shifting its library collection and books to its official website in the near future.
