CHIEF JUSTICE OF PAKISTAN ENGAGES WITH SUPREME COURT BAR AHEAD OF NEW JUDICIAL YEAR Islamabad: August 13, 2026

Hon’ble the Chief Justice of Pakistan yesterday visited the Supreme Court Bar Room and engaged with members of the legal fraternity as part of the consultative process ahead of the commencement of the new Judicial Year on 14 September 2026. The Chief Justice was received by Mr. Haroon ur Rashid, President, Supreme Court Bar Association, along with members of the Executive Committee, advocates and Advocates-on-Record.

During the interaction, the Bar was briefed on the online digital services available through the Supreme Court’s Public Facilitation Centre, aimed at making court-related services more accessible, efficient and user-friendly. The Bar was also apprised of the case fixation policy of the Supreme Court and the principles guiding the scheduling and prioritisation of cases.

Members of the Bar appreciated the inclusive approach of the Supreme Court and the opportunity to contribute to the planning process for the new Judicial Year. They put forth valuable suggestions concerning case fixation, prioritisation and scheduling, which were noted for consideration.

The Chief Justice appreciated the constructive engagement and valuable input of the Bar, reiterating that meaningful consultation with key stakeholders is essential for developing responsive policies, improving court processes and strengthening access to justice.

The consultation forms part of the broader institutional effort to shape the priorities and operational framework for the upcoming Judicial Year through continued engagement with the Bench, Bar and other stakeholders.
