Minister of Energy of the Republic of Belarus Call on the Prime Minister

Islamabad: August 12, 2026

H.E. Mr. Dzenis Maroz, Minister for Energy of the Republic of Belarus, who is currently on an official visit to Pakistan, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House, this afternoon.

While welcoming the Belarusian Minister and his delegation, the Prime Minister conveyed his warm greetings and good wishes for President Alexander Lukashenko. He fondly recalled President Lukashenko’s visit to Islamabad in November 2024, as well as his own visit to Belarus in April 2025, that further strengthened bilateral ties across all spheres of shared interest.

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the productive deliberations held during the 9th Session of the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) held in Islamabad, wherein the two sides reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation, including in trade, industry, agriculture, banking, labour, transport, and energy sectors. Both sides expressed confidence that the outcomes of the JMC would translate into tangible benefits for both countries and further consolidate the growing partnership between Pakistan and Belarus.

The visiting Minister thanked the Prime Minister for the gracious welcome, and conveyed the warm regards of the Belarusian leadership. He briefed the Prime Minister on the substantive progress made during the JMC meeting. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen bilateral coordination to materialize cooperation across all sectors agreed between the leadership of two countries.
