Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry said that India's illegal and sinister attempt to alter the disputed status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's fascist and extremist ideology, has not only failed miserably but has also been completely rejected by the Kashmiri people.
He was addressing a ceremony held at Waqar-un-Nisa College, Rawalpindi, to mark Youm-e-Istehsaal Kashmir.
The event was attended by Member National Assembly Engineer Qamar-ul-Islam Raja, Member National Assembly Asiya Naz Tanoli, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Nadeem Nasir, Member Provincial Assembly Shazia Rizwan, Principal of Waqar-un-Nisa College Professor Zahida Parveen, faculty members, students, and people from various walks of life.
Barrister Danyal said that the Pakistani nation stands like a rock with the Kashmiri people and will never allow the illegal, expansionist, and colonial ambitions of the Modi government to succeed.
He said India's unilateral actions of August 5, 2019, were a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions, international law, and the UN Charter; actions that no civilized and law-abiding society can accept.
The Parliamentary Secretary said India cannot alter the internationally recognized disputed status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir through force, coercion, or unilateral legislation. He said all Indian conspiracies to change the demographic composition, settle non-locals, and erase the religious, cultural, and national identity of the Kashmiri people will fail.
Barrister Danyal said that despite the worst atrocities, sieges, arbitrary arrests, curbs on freedom of expression, and grave human rights violations by Indian occupation forces, the Kashmiri people's spirit of freedom remains unbroken. He said the Kashmiri people have been making unparalleled sacrifices for decades to achieve their right to self-determination, and this struggle cannot be suppressed.
