Pakistan's unwavering support for the Kashmiri people's right to self-determination remains an integral part of our national policy: Senator Dr. Musadik Malik

Federal Minister for Climate Change & Environmental Coordination, Senator Dr. Musadik Malik, in his message on Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir (Kashmir Exploitation Day), said that India's unilateral and illegal actions of August 5, 2019, which revoked the special constitutional status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), remain unacceptable and constitute a clear violation of the United Nations Charter, relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, and international law.

The Federal Minister stated that Pakistan's unwavering support for the Kashmiri people's right to self-determination and their just struggle is an integral part of the country's principled national policy. He reaffirmed that Pakistan will continue to extend its political, diplomatic and moral support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir at every international forum.

Senator Dr. Musadik Malik urged the United Nations, international human rights organizations and the global community to play their due role in ensuring the protection of the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people and the implementation of the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

The Federal Minister emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to peace, justice and respect for international law. He said that lasting peace and stability in South Asia can only be achieved through a just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

He said that Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir serves as a reminder of the international community's responsibility to uphold justice and human dignity. He reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to continue raising the Kashmir issue at all national, regional and international forums until the Kashmiri people are able to exercise their internationally recognized right to self-determination.

Concluding his message, Senator Dr. Musadik Malik paid tribute to the resilience and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people and reiterated that the people and Government of Pakistan stand in complete solidarity with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters and will continue to support their legitimate struggle for justice, peace and self-determination.
