The participants of the 3rd Senior Management Course from the Sindh Provincial Civil Service visited NAB (headquarters) today. Chairman NAB, Lieutenant General (Retired) Nazir Ahmed, warmly welcomed the visiting delegation and delivered an inspiring, heartfelt address emphasizing the core values of public service, unwavering integrity, and national development.
Addressing the senior bureaucrats, the Chairman urged them to consistently rise above their predecessors in matters of honesty and moral integrity. He underscored that building personal capacity, strengthening character, and developing professional competency are indispensable for effective governance and public service. Urging a zero-tolerance approach toward dishonesty, he called upon the officers to firmly reject corrupt practices, champion honesty, and actively contribute to the holistic development of the country. He further reminded the participants of their duty to rigorously safeguard state assets, remain deeply committed to their foundational responsibilities, and perform their official duties with absolute dedication and sincerity, reiterating that NAB remains resolutely determined to eradicate corruption from the country.
Earlier in the program, Director General (Operations), Amjad Majeed Aulakh, delivered a comprehensive and detailed briefing to the delegation. His presentation covered the National Accountability Ordinance (NAO) of 1999, NAB's structural organogram, ongoing institutional reforms, Anti-Money Laundering cases, international agreements and collaborations, and the overall performance metrics of the bureau.
Highlighting the bureau's remarkable operational achievements, the Director General shared that NAB has accomplished unprecedented recoveries, successfully recovering 14.485 trillion rupees, equivalent to 51.73 billion US dollars, over the last three years. He noted that the bureau's current operational focus remains heavily centered on the recovery of state assets and state land, addressing cases of cheating the public at large, and tackling Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) cases.
The formal session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment where the visiting officers posed queries regarding administrative frameworks and anti-corruption strategies, which were thoroughly addressed by the Chairman NAB and the Director General (Operations). The visit culminated with a traditional group photograph to commemorate the occasion, followed by a ceremonial exchange of souvenirs between NAB leadership and the visiting course participants.
