The Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training held a cordial meeting with His Excellency Dr. Hossein Simaei Sarraf, Minister of Science, Research and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during his official visit to Pakistan. The meeting reflected the longstanding friendship and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iran and underscored the shared commitment of both countries to further strengthening cooperation in the fields of education, science, research, innovation, and higher learning.
The Federal Minister warmly welcomed the distinguished Iranian delegation and expressed Pakistan’s deep appreciation for the historic and close ties between the two neighboring countries. Both sides acknowledged the growing momentum in bilateral educational cooperation and reaffirmed their resolve to expand institutional partnerships for the mutual benefit of students, researchers, and academic communities.
During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed over the successful implementation of the existing Memoranda of Understanding between Pakistani and Iranian higher education institutions, including the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), and both sides encouraged similar collaborations among other universities and research organizations.
The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in teacher education, curriculum development, digital learning, artificial intelligence, educational technology, technical and vocational education and training, joint research initiatives, faculty exchanges, and student mobility. Both delegations emphasized the importance of promoting collaborative research projects, academic conferences, innovation partnerships, and scholarship opportunities to strengthen academic linkages and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise.
The Federal Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to implementing the education-related decisions of the Pakistan-Iran Joint Commission and translating the shared vision of both countries into meaningful and practical outcomes. He highlighted the importance of sustained institutional engagement in addressing common educational challenges and advancing scientific and technological progress.
His Excellency Dr. Hossein Simaei Sarraf appreciated the warm hospitality extended by the Government of Pakistan and expressed confidence that enhanced collaboration between the educational and scientific institutions of the two countries would further deepen bilateral relations and contribute to regional development through innovation, research excellence, and academic cooperation.
Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination and continue exploring new avenues of collaboration aimed at strengthening people-to-people contacts, promoting academic excellence, and fostering sustainable development through education, science, and research.
