A delegation of the Istanbul Bar Association, currently visiting Pakistan on the invitation of the Pakistan Bar Council, called on the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mr. Justice Yahya Afridi, at the Supreme Court of Pakistan today. The delegation was accompanied by H.E. Dr. Irfan Neziro?lu, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Pakistan, and Mr. Peer Muhammad Masood Chishti, Vice Chairman, Pakistan Bar Council.
Welcoming the delegation, the Hon’ble Chief Justice underscored the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Türkiye, founded on shared history, mutual respect, and enduring cooperation. His Lordship observed that Pakistan has greatly benefited from Türkiye’s experience in judicial administration and legal reforms, and welcomed the growing collaboration between the legal communities of the two countries. He noted with satisfaction that, alongside judicial cooperation, such professional exchanges at the Bar level would further strengthen institutional ties and foster greater mutual understanding.
The delegation appreciated the warm hospitality extended by the Supreme Court of Pakistan and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting closer engagement between the Bars of Pakistan and Türkiye through the exchange of knowledge, professional expertise, and best practices. The Hon’ble Chief Justice assured the delegation of the Supreme Court’s full institutional support for initiatives aimed at strengthening legal and judicial cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on matters of mutual interest, reaffirming the shared commitment of Pakistan and Türkiye to continued institutional collaboration, professional capacity-building, and the promotion of the rule of law through sustained engagement and mutual learning.
