A delegation comprising District and Sessions Judges from various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Mardan, Swat, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Kohat, Abbottabad, and Peshawar, led by the Registrar of the Peshawar High Court, called on the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan on 15 June 2026. During the meeting, matters relating to judicial reforms, public facilitation, and the modernization of court services were discussed.
Subsequently, the delegation visited the Public Facilitation Centre (PFC) at the Supreme Court of Pakistan to observe its operations and explore the possibility of replicating the model within the judicial institutions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The delegation was briefed on the wide range of citizen-centric services being provided through the Public Facilitation Centre, which has been established as a one-window platform to enhance accessibility, transparency, and efficiency in the delivery of judicial services. The briefing covered various facilities available at the Centre, including case filing guidance, information and facilitation services, certified copy facilitation, case status information, litigant support services, digital information kiosks, e-filing assistance, online and e-payment facilities, as well as integrated public complaint and feedback mechanisms.
The Hon’ble Chief Justice underscored the importance of citizen-centric reforms and observed that judicial institutions must continually embrace innovative and technology-enabled solutions to improve service delivery and strengthen public confidence in the justice system. His Lordship highlighted the ongoing reform initiatives aimed at facilitating litigants, enhancing institutional efficiency, and expanding access to justice through digitization, process automation, and improved public engagement.
The members of the delegation appreciated the Public Facilitation Centre as an exemplary model of integrated service delivery and expressed keen interest in adopting similar facilitative arrangements within the district judiciary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Discussions also focused on the exchange of best practices and the promotion of greater institutional coordination to further enhance public facilitation across judicial institutions.
The Hon’ble Chief Justice expressed confidence that such collaborative engagements would contribute to strengthening service delivery standards and advancing a more responsive, accessible, and citizen-centric justice system.
