In a landmark step toward transforming education in Pakistan, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RIGHT TO PLAY on May 4, 2026. This strategic partnership, in collaboration with the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), underscores the Government’s commitment to fostering holistic student development beyond traditional academic learning.
The initiative aims to integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into classrooms nationwide, promoting the mental, physical, social, and emotional well-being of students.
The initiative will introduce 25 specialized SEL-based lesson plans per grade level, developed using Right To Play’s globally recognized methodology. These lessons will be implemented throughout the academic year to support the development of well-rounded learners.
Comprehensive professional development programs will equip educators with modern social-emotional teaching techniques, enabling them to create inclusive and supportive classroom environments for every child and self-confidence among students.
Schools will also receive sports kits designed to use play as a tool for building resilience, teamwork, leadership.
This initiative establishes a sustainable framework in which emotional intelligence is valued alongside academic achievement, preparing students to succeed in all aspects of life.
Officials emphasized that investing in children’s emotional and social skills today is essential for building a more empathetic, resilient, and progressive Pakistan.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by the Federal Minister for Education, along with senior representatives from MoFEPT, FDE, and Right To Play. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the Government’s ongoing efforts to modernize the education system and ensure inclusive, student-centered learning across the country.
