President briefed on progress of Pakistan-China MoUs, emphasises timely implementation

President Asif Ali Zardari was given a detailed briefing on the progress of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed during his recent visits to the People’s Republic of China.

The briefing, held at the Chief Minister House Karachi, reviewed ongoing work relating to joint initiatives between Sindh and Chinese partners. The President underscored that these agreements must translate into practical results, with clear timelines, institutional coordination and sustained follow-up.

The President noted that Pakistan’s cooperation with China presents an important opportunity to modernise infrastructure, strengthen industrial capacity and advance socio-economic development. He stressed the need for removing administrative bottlenecks, ensuring transparency and facilitating investors to accelerate project execution.

The briefing covered progress across a range of sectors including fire safety and emergency response systems, energy and fertiliser production, livestock development, agriculture, environmental management and recycling technologies. Updates were also shared on initiatives aimed at improving food security, enhancing disease control mechanisms in livestock and promoting sustainable industrial practices.

The President directed that all departments maintain close coordination with concerned authorities and Chinese counterparts and ensure regular monitoring through dedicated mechanisms.
