The Embassy of Pakistan, Bucharest, organised a flag-hoisting ceremony, today, to observe the National Day of Pakistan. The event was attended by a large number of Pakistani expatriates in Romania.
The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by Ambassador Ilyas Mehmood Nizami , accompanied by the rendition of Pakistan’s National Anthem. Subsequently, the special messages of the President, the Prime Minister, and the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister for the occasion were read out.
Addressing the participants, Ambassador Ilyas Mehmood Nizami congratulated the community members on the occasion of National Day. He paid rich tribute to the leadership of Pakistan movement, especially Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He underscored that Pakistan came into existence through a peaceful political struggle and democratic means. He added that the creation of Pakistan was an embodiment of the popular aspirations of the Muslims of the Subcontinent. He also recalled different facets of Pakistan’s developmental journey during last 79 years, which carried special significance in the backdrop of the country’s modest resource base at the time of its creation in 1947.
