The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi organized a flag-hoisting ceremony at its premises today to commemorate the 86th National Day of Pakistan with national zeal and fervor.
The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, accompanied by the rendition of Pakistan’s National Anthem. Special messages from the President, the Prime Minister, and the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister on the occasion of Pakistan’s National Day were then read out.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan recalled the long and heroic struggle and immense sacrifices made by the Muslims of the Subcontinent that led to the creation of Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of unity, tolerance, and harmony to overcome current challenges and build a stable and prosperous nation.
He also reiterated Pakistan’s principled position in support of the right to self-determination for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Ambassador Khan highlighted the significance of the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and the UAE. He thanked the government and people of the UAE for the warmth, hospitality, and opportunities extended to the Pakistani community. Lauding the valuable contribution of Pakistani community to the progress and prosperity of the UAE, he urged community members to respect local laws and customs and to strictly adhere to the instructions issued by the UAE authorities amid the evolving situation.
