H.E. Shafqat Ali Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates, called on His Excellency Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, during his visit to Dubai.
During the meeting, the Chairman Senate lauded the Ambassador’s efforts in further strengthening Pakistan–UAE relations and appreciated his role in promoting close bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries. He emphasized the importance of deepening parliamentary cooperation, expanding economic engagement, and strengthening people-to-people contacts as key pillars of the bilateral relationship.
Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani emphasized the growing significance of parliamentary diplomacy in advancing mutual understanding and reinforcing institutional ties between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. He noted that enhanced interaction between parliamentary institutions can complement executive-level engagement and contribute to long-term strategic cooperation.
The Ambassador briefed the Chairman Senate on ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing trade, investment, and broader economic collaboration between Pakistan and the UAE. He reaffirmed the UAE’s continued interest in strengthening partnerships across multiple sectors of mutual interest.
The Chairman Senate also appreciated the positive and constructive role played by the Pakistani diaspora in the United Arab Emirates, noting that people-to-people contacts remain a vital component of the enduring friendship between the two nations.
