In observance of Kashmir Solidarity Day, the Ministry of Defence organised a series of activities to reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering support for the just struggle of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination.
The Federal Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, in his message on the occasion, reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm commitment to the Kashmiri cause and stated that the people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with their Kashmiri brethren in their legitimate struggle for self-determination. He emphasised that lasting peace in South Asia remains contingent upon the just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions and the will of Kashmiri people.
As part of the commemorations, under the guidance of the Secretary Defence Lt Gen Muhammad Ali HI(M), Retd, the Ministry of Defence organised two solidarity walks. One walk was held within the premises of the Ministry of Defence, while the second walk joined the main rally at D-Chowk, organised by the Kashmir Affairs Division. Officers and staff of the Ministry participated in these walks to express solidarity with Kashmiri people and to pay tribute to their sacrifices.
In addition, debate competitions and quiz competitions focusing on the Kashmir issue were organised in Federal Government (FG) Schools by the FG Directorates across the country to raise awareness among students about the historical background, legal, and humanitarian dimensions of the Kashmir dispute.
Under the guidance of the Secretary Defence, arrangements were also made for the display of Pana flexes and banners in cantonments across the country, highlighting the significance of Kashmir Solidarity Day and reaffirming Pakistan’s principled stance on the Kashmir issue.
Pakistan remains steadfast in its commitment to continue extending political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir until the realisation of their legitimate rights, in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the will of Kashmiri people.
