Islamabad: February 04, 2026

On the occasion of World Cancer Day, Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Syed Imran Ahmad Shah stated that the government is taking practical measures to ensure access to treatment facilities for deserving cancer patients so that financial constraints do not become a barrier to treatment.

The Federal Minister said that under the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) is providing support to deserving cancer patients across the country through Individual Financial Assistance (IFA) for treatment, medicines, and other essential medical procedures. He added that these efforts are facilitating timely treatment for patients in both public and private hospitals.

He directed the concerned authorities to ensure that no negligence occurs in the provision of facilities to cancer patients and that applications are processed in a timely and effective manner.
