The 10th Pakistan–Japan Private Sector Business Dialogue was held today in Tokyo with the
participation of business leaders and institutions from both countries.
The Dialogue was co-chaired by Mr. Murtaza Mandviwalla, Chairman, Pakistan–Japan
Business Forum (PJBF), and Mr. Akira Terakawa, Chairman, Japan–Pakistan Business Co-
operation Committee (JPBCC). A 26-member PJBF business delegation participated in the
Dialogue, reflecting strong private-sector interest from Pakistan, with the active support and
facilitation of JPBCC.
H.E. Mr. Abdul Hameed, Ambassador of Pakistan to Japan, welcomed participants and
highlighted the importance of trust, continuity, and practical cooperation in strengthening
bilateral business ties.
The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Rana Ihsan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime
Minister of Pakistan on Commerce and Industry, who outlined Pakistan’s focus on moving from
trade-based engagement toward investment-led cooperation and joint value chains, grounded in
standards, reliability, and phased implementation.
The Dialogue enabled open and practical exchanges across key sectors and reaffirmed the
shared commitment of both sides to long-term business collaboration.
