A 12-member Iranian business delegation participated in Food AG 2025 held at Karachi. This marked the largest delegation that participated in Food AG so far, marking a significant step forward in strengthening Pakistan–Iran bilateral trade, particularly in the agri-food sector.
The delegation represented key sectors including meat, rice, sesame seed, fertilizer, Agritech and fruits and vegetables. Extensive B2B engagements were held with Pakistani companies.
Notably, this year’s event resulted in the signing of three major Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between Pakistani and Iranian companies, collectively valued at over USD 4 million. These agreements reflect the growing confidence of the private sectors on both sides and the increasing scope for cross-border agri-food collaboration.
During the exhibition, substantial progress was achieved in negotiations related to the sesame seed and rice sectors. Multiple Pakistani companies have been invited to Iran for the finalization of commercial contracts, signaling a promising expansion of trade volumes.
It is pertinent to mention that In addition, significant deals in the meat sector have been negotiated and are nearing conclusion.
The participation of such a high level delegation comprising of owners and CEOs of the main food importing companies , demonstrate the strong potential of Pakistan–Iran cooperation in the food and agriculture sectors and underscore the role of Food AG as an impactful platform for generating new business opportunities and fostering regional economic integration.
The visit has strengthened confidence and opened doors for long-term sourcing opportunities from Pakistan to Iran across multiple Agro-food categories. The delegation expressed sincere gratitude to TDAP for organizing FoodAg 2025 and for the warm hospitality and seamless facilitation extended throughout their visit.
