Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of senior Pakistan Television actor Ishrat Abbas. The Minister paid rich tribute to his remarkable contributions, stating that Ishrat Abbas’s artistic services in television, radio, and theatre will always be remembered with respect.

Ishrat Abbas, a veteran actor with a career spanning more than four decades, passed away after a long and celebrated journey in the performing arts. His funeral prayer will be offered today at 11:00 a.m. at Government College Faqirabad, Peshawar.

Renowned for his powerful performances, Ishrat Abbas captivated audiences in Urdu, Pashto, and Hindko dramas. He also showcased his talent in Radio Pakistan dramas, earning admiration for his memorable voice and versatile acting.

In recognition of his extraordinary services, the Government of Pakistan awarded him the Presidential Medal for Pride of Performance, alongside several other accolades in the field of fine arts.

Writers, artists, and cultural personalities from across the country have expressed grief and extended prayers for the departed soul.
