Lasbela Sets an Example: All 72 Closed Government Schools Reactivated

Lasbela, Balochistan: September 13, 2025

In a historic achievement for Balochistan’s education sector, Lasbela has become the first district in the province where all previously closed government schools have been reactivated. Under the dedicated leadership of MPA Zarain Khan Magsi and the vision and guidance of MNA Lasbela, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, all 72 non-functional schools in the district have been reopened—ensuring that no government school in Lasbela remains closed.

This milestone has brought thousands of children, who had long been deprived of education, back into classrooms and provided them with a renewed chance for a brighter future. At the same time, the initiative has created dozens of employment opportunities for teachers and support staff across the district.

Teacher appointments were made with complete transparency through multiple channels, including contract teachers, SBK graduates, retired educators, and CSR-supported staff, ensuring fairness and merit.

The success of this campaign was built on community engagement, with local consultations, tehsil-level visits, and a coordinated strategy developed in collaboration with the Education Department.

MPA Zarain Khan Magsi personally facilitated resource mobilization, identified challenges, and guided administrative measures, while MNA Jam Kamal Khan provided overall vision and leadership to ensure the success of this initiative.

The project now moves into its next phase, which focuses on renovating school buildings, providing furniture, and improving other educational facilities through the District Education Group.

This achievement not only transforms the educational landscape of Lasbela but also sets a powerful precedent for the entire province of Balochistan.
