The 1500th birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, the Mercy for all worlds (PBUH), was celebrated with immense devotion, respect, and national unity in Jhelum.
Central celebrations for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), organized under the auspices of the Sunni Ulema Council, were held in the Nikkodar area of Jhelum and Tehsil Dina. The Minister of State for Finance and Railways, Mr. Bilal Azhar Kayani, was the guest of honor on this auspicious occasion.
In his address to the gathering, Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani extended his congratulations to the Muslim Ummah on the 1500th birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
"Celebrating the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is a source of blessings and mercy for all of us," he stated. "On this day, we renew our faith and seek guidance from the blessed life (Seerat) of our Noble Prophet (PBUH)."
Highlighting the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH), the Minister said, "The life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is replete with examples of supporting orphans and the helpless, freeing slaves, and honoring and respecting women. He (PBUH) bestowed a system where the oppressed and the weak received the most rights."
"The fundamental point is that we all must follow the Seerat of the Prophet (PBUH), support orphans, and show compassion to the weak. In this lies the goodness of both this world and the hereafter," he emphasized.
"Adhering to the Seerat of the Prophet (PBUH) is the commitment of our state, and we must all continue to play our role in its defense," the Minister added.
He further stated that by following the example of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), comprehensive help must be provided to the flood-affected brothers and sisters.
"In a remarkable coincidence, alongside the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awal, today is also the 6th of September, Pakistan Defense Day," he noted. "In 1965, our martyrs and veterans fought against India with unparalleled courage and bravery. I pay tribute to the officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Armed Forces who render great services and sacrifices for the protection and defense of the homeland and the nation."
"Jhelum is the land of martyrs and veterans; representing this city is a great honor. Jhelum not only defends Pakistan but also protects the ideology upon which this great country was founded," he said with pride.
"Recently, in May, during India's aggression, our lions and falcons (brave soldiers) refreshed the memories of 1965 and gave a resounding defeat to the enemy in the battle of truth," the Minister stated.
He concluded his address with a prayer: "May Allah the Almighty include us among the fortunate and blessed ones who find shelter under the merciful shadow of the Intercessor of the Day of Judgment (PBUH)."
Special prayers were offered during the gathering for the progress, peace, and prosperity of the country and the nation, the freedom of occupied territories, and for the martyrs of the floods and the homeland.
At the end of the ceremony, Bilal Azhar Kayani also distributed free plants for a tree plantation drive.
