Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation & Social Safety, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, while addressing the 50th International Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) Conference in Islamabad, said that the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) provides complete guidance for every sphere of life. He emphasized that the path to social, moral, and ethical reform lies in the teachings of the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH).
The Minister highlighted that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) gave humanity the message of justice, brotherhood, education, research, and ethics. He noted that in the present digital era, while social media has become a source of knowledge and connectivity, it is also being misused as a tool for misguidance and division. The only way to counter these challenges, he said, is through the guiding light of the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH).
Referring to the Qur’an and Hadith, the Minister stated that Islam stresses the importance of truth, verification, and caution, while strictly prohibiting lies, slander, and character assassination. He said these principles are even more relevant in today’s digital culture.
The Minister further underlined that spreading fake news, promoting sectarian hatred, defaming individuals, and insulting sacred personalities on social media are not only against Islamic teachings but also punishable under Pakistan’s laws. He urged youth, scholars, and civil society to foster tolerance, responsibility, and research-based dialogue to strengthen unity and harmony in society.
The conference was attended by dignitaries from Egypt, Bangladesh, Palestine, and other countries, along with national and international scholars, religious leaders, and diplomats.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Federal Minister Syed Imran Ahmed Shah distributed awards and certificates among the winners of different competitions. He prayed for Pakistan’s progress, unity, and prosperity in the light of the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH).
