Flood Alert for Sahiwal; Federal Minister Syed Imran Shah Directed District Administration to be on Full Alert

Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of lives and property caused by the recent floods in Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, and other affected areas of Punjab.

The Federal Minister stated that the flood stream has now reached Shahdara and is expected to affect low-lying areas of Sahiwal and its surroundings in the coming hours. In view of this situation, he directed the Sahiwal district administration to remain on full alert.

He emphasized that timely assistance should be provided for the evacuation of people, emergency relief measures must be ensured, and immediate warning messages should be issued in vulnerable areas.

Furthermore, the Federal Minister announced that he will personally visit the relief camps to ensure the provision of food, shelter, and medical facilities for the displaced families. He added that the protection of people’s lives and property remains the government’s top priority and stressed that the district administration, along with all relevant institutions, must work in close coordination to make rescue and relief efforts more effective.
