PAKISTAN CONSULATE SYDNEY ORGANIZED A RECEPTION AT THE PAKISTAN’S INDEPENDENCE DAY AT NSW PARLIAMENT ON 14TH AUGUST 2025

The Consulate General of Pakistan in Sydney hosted a special reception at the NSW Parliament to mark the 78th Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The event brought together distinguished guests including the honourable Ministers and members of the NSW Parliament, government officials, diplomats, community leaders, business representatives, media, and members of the Pakistani diaspora. Hon. Stephen Kemper, Minister for Lands and Property, Minister for Multiculturalism, Minister for Sport, and Minister for Jobs and Tourism was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Other Ministers in attendance included Hon Jihad Dib, Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government, Minister for Emergency Services, and Minister for Youth Justice. In his address, Mr. Qamar Zaman, Consul General of Pakistan paid tribute to the vision and sacrifices of the founding fathers of Pakistan, emphasising the nation’s progress and resilience. He also expressed appreciation for the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Australia, noting the opportunities for further cooperation in trade, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

The speakers commended the Pakistani-Australian community for their contributions to the state’s economy, social cohesion, and cultural diversity. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and supporting community initiatives. The celebration highlighted the strong bonds between Pakistan and Australia, and the valuable contributions of the Pakistani community to the multicultural fabric of New South Wales.

The reception featured performance of kids on the national anthems of Pakistan and Australia, cultural displays, and refreshments, creating a vibrant atmosphere that reflected the spirit of unity and pride.

The Consulate General extended gratitude to all attendees and reaffirmed its dedication to serving the Pakistani community and promoting the nation’s values and heritage.
