Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, has said that the passion and enthusiasm witnessed across the country on this year’s Independence Day was truly unprecedented in the nation’s history.
He made these remarks while addressing an Independence Day ceremony at Viqar-un-Nisa College, Rawalpindi, organized under the theme "Marka-e-Haq" (Battle for Truth). The event was attended by a large number of students, faculty members, and distinguished guests, including Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Dr. Hasan Waqar Cheema, Member National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb, as well as other political and social figures.
Barrister Danyal Chaudhry noted that 14th August has always served to unite the nation, and will continue to be commemorated in the spirit of unity and harmony in the years to come. He recalled that at the time of Pakistan’s creation, the very first official announcement was broadcast from Radio Pakistan—an institution under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting—proclaiming to the world that the "Islamic Republic of Pakistan" had come into existence.
Paying tribute to the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry remarked that the Quaid, without resorting to a “Jail Bharo Tehreek” (Fill-the-Jails Movement), united the Muslims of the subcontinent with resolve, wisdom, and vision. "This is true leadership—leaders who transform the destiny of nations,” he stated.
Addressing the youth, he stressed that leadership and values are a legacy passed from one generation to the next, and it is up to students to decide the direction in which they will lead the nation. He expressed confidence that the younger generation, through unity and determination, will overcome prevailing negativity in society and set Pakistan firmly on the path to progress and prosperity.
He reminded the audience that Pakistan was achieved after immense sacrifices and bloodshed, and safeguarding it remains a shared responsibility of the people, the students, and the Armed Forces alike.
The event featured a cake-cutting ceremony, student speeches, and cultural skits celebrating independence, which added color and vibrancy to the proceedings. Concluding his address, the Parliamentary Secretary raised spirited slogans in favor of Pakistan and thanked the participants for their enthusiastic presence.
