The 78th World Health Assembly is currently underway in Geneva, bringing together global health leaders to deliberate on critical issues including pandemic preparedness, universal health coverage, and the growing burden of non-communicable diseases, according to a spokesperson from the Ministry of Health.
Federal Minister for Health, Syed Mustafa Kamal, is representing Pakistan at this important international forum. He is also scheduled to address the Assembly, where he will highlight Pakistan's progress in public health, share key challenges, and outline the country's future roadmap, particularly focusing on the eradication of polio.
In his address, the Minister will shed light on the steps Pakistan has taken to strengthen its health system and enhance disease prevention and response capacities. He will also emphasize the importance of continued international cooperation and the role of technical assistance from global partners in improving health outcomes for the people of Pakistan.
The Ministry spokesperson stated that Pakistan remains committed to working with international stakeholders to ensure better health for all and to contribute meaningfully to the global health agenda.
