Today, a meeting of the Prime Minister’s Committee for Enhancing Exports of the Manufacturing Sector was held in Islamabad. The meeting was chaired by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan.
The committee discussed the challenges facing the manufacturing sector’s exports. Key issues identified included high electricity costs, excessive taxation, and lack of value addition.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan emphasized that, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision, exports are the lifeline of Pakistan’s economy. He stressed the need for taking practical measures to increase exports.
Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan further stated that the revival of the industrial sector and the enhancement of exports are key pillars of the Prime Minister’s economic vision.
Committee members underlined the importance of technology upgradation and adherence to international standards as essential steps for strengthening exports.
To address the identified challenges, Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan formed sub-committees and assigned them specific responsibilities for immediate action.
