Defence delegation from the Republic of South Africa, led by Dr. Thobekile Gamede, Acting Secretary of Defence, called on the Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, in Islamabad today. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral defence cooperation and exploring avenues for collaboration in various defence sectors. During the discussions, Dr. Gamede expressed a keen interest in enhancing defence ties between South Africa and Pakistan, highlighting the significant potential for cooperation, particularly in the defence industrial sector. She praised Pakistan's robust defence capabilities and noted the mutual benefits that can be derived from closer collaboration. Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to furthering strong defence relations with South Africa. He emphasized the importance of building on existing ties to promote peace, security, and stability. Both sides agreed to continue dialogue and explore opportunities for collaboration in training, technology exchange, and defence manufacturing.
