Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja Meets Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology: Focus on Strengthening Digital Cooperation

Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication, H.E. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, held an important meeting with Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology, H.E. Abdullah Alsawaha. The discussion focused on strategies to enhance digital cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Both ministers emphasized the potential of digital technologies to drive economic growth and highlighted the need for collaborative efforts to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. Minister Alsawaha remarked, “Grow with Saudi Arabia, and it will change; grow with Pakistan, and we will thrive together.” H.E. Shaza Fatima Khawaja announced an initiative to send five Pakistani IT and tech companies to Saudi Arabia every three months. This initiative aims to provide Pakistani companies with opportunities to collaborate with Saudi Arabia’s advanced digital ecosystem and strengthen cross-border business partnerships. In response, Minister Alsawaha expressed his commitment to further enhancing the initiative, stating, “We will work to double or even triple this collaboration to ensure both countries gain maximum benefits.” The two leaders also discussed fostering startups, advancing technology transfer, and launching capacity-building programs. These initiatives aim to strengthen the IT sectors in both countries and accelerate regional digital growth. This meeting marks a significant step in deepening digital collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, paving the way for economic growth and broader regional development through innovation and partnership.
