Federal Medical College (FMC), Islamabad, the first and only public sector medical college of the federal capital, under the administrative control of the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination, achieved a significant milestone today with the inauguration of the 1st issue of its official journal. The event was graced by the Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Health, Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Bharath, as the Chief Guest, held at his office in Islamabad. The initiative represents a remarkable stride towards fostering research and academic excellence within the medical community. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Bharath lauded strides made by the FMC under the leadership of its Principal, Prof. Dr. S. H. Waqar for the FMC’s Journal of its own. He emphasized that the creation and success of the Journal of FMC is a remarkable achievement, one that Prof. Dr. S. H. Waqar will undoubtedly look back on as one of the defining milestones of his career, especially when reflecting on his career upon retirement. Dr. Bharath recognized the pivotal role that the Journal will play in advancing research in the medical field, which is crucial for the development of healthcare systems in Pakistan. Furthermore, Dr. Bharath confirmed that the Ministry will continue its unwavering support for FMC, ensuring the allocation of necessary resources, including budget provisions for upcoming projects like the construction of building. FMC’s Principal, Prof. Dr. S. H. Waqar, highlighted the journal's vision to serve as a platform for publishing cutting-edge medical research that addresses national and global health challenges.
