JAPANESE DELEGATION CALLS ON MINISTER FOR INDUSTRIES, PRODUCTION Islamabad: September 27, 2022

The Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Makhdoom Syed Murtaza Mahmood has urged the international companies manufacturing agriculture equipments to introduce modern machinery to Pakistan in order to increase per hectare yield and decrease the loss of grain. He expressed these views in a meeting with a four member delegation headed by Haruhiko Nakano, Manager Agriculture Machinery Overseas Service Department of a Japan based Kutoba Corporation, which called on him here at his office on Tuesday. Discussing a complete ban on import of 2nd hand reconditioned machinery, the minister said that the move would create massive job creation opportunities in the country. The federal minister assured the delegation to provide all possible facilities to Kubota Corporation for installing their assembly lines in Pakistan for agriculture machinery. This would not only help us in minimizing import bill but also we could generate revenue by exporting machines to other countries, he added. He urged the delegation to manufacture spare parts in Pakistan in order to increase the adaptability of new machinery among the farmers. The delegation told the minister that it had developed various kinds of agricultural machinery including engines for agricultural machines, tractors, combine harvesters, and rice transplanters. The delegation said that Kubota Corporation was ready to support Pakistani farmers by addressing their needs in agriculture sector.
