To celebrate the 75th anniversary of independence, a ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan, Tokyo. Charge d’ Affaires a.i. Ms. Ismat Hassan Sial, hoisted the national flag whilst the audience sang the National anthem of Pakistan. A large number of Pakistanis as well as Japanese from all walks of life attended the ceremony, says a press release received here today from Tokyo. Messages from the President and Prime Minister were read to the audience. The messages firmly reiterated the nation’s resolve to stand united and strive hard to overcome our present-day challenges to make Pakistan a self-reliant and economically vibrant country. Charge d’ Affaires a.i. in her remarks stated that 14th August 1947, signified the emergence of an independent ideological state under the indomitable leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah who believed in following the principles of democracy, peace and friendship with all the nations of the world. Charge d’ Affaires a.i. underscored that this year’s Independence Day carried immense significance as the whole nation stood resolved to staunchly oppose the recent illegal acts of Indian Government to alter these status of internationally recognized disputed Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Mili Naghmas were sung by the children. Stalls show casing traditional Pakistani handicrafts, fabrics, jewelry and shawls etc. were also displayed.
