Ms Nilofar Bakhtiar chaired National Women Police Conference 2022 at National Police Bureau, Islamabad.
The event was attended by human rights activists, Parliamentarians and Police Women.
The event involved sessions on inspirational stories about the women who joined police forces by being resilient and steadfast in their lives. Further, the efficacy of Gender Crime Cell was explained, along with speeches from the guests who discussed the importance of women in the task force.
On the occasion, Ms Nilofar Bakhtiar said:
“Some of us are cleaning rooms, but all of you are cleaning communities, which is a huge responsibility”
She further said that it was a pleasure to inaugurate the National Women Police Conference 2022 and it was a proud moment to see our girls in uniform. Ms Nilofar Bakhtiar also highlighted that at present only 2% Women are in the police force and NCSW will work to increase that to 10% as women are direct needed in our Police force.
Ms Nilofar Bakhtiar also extended full support from the commission in ensuring that misogyny is not exercised in hiring of the police.
