Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a review meeting on Pakistan's participation in Expo 2020 in Dubai and preparations being made in this regard.
The meeting was attended by Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, PM’s Adviser on Commerce Abdul Razzaq Dawood, SAPM on Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill, Secretaries of relevant Ministries, Chief Executive Trade Development Authority and other senior officials. The meeting was briefed that Pakistan's participation in this international expo would open up new avenues of trade and investment as the international community would be introduced to various aspects of Pakistan. The meeting was informed that the Expo would start on October 1, 2021 and would continue for six consecutive months. A detailed briefing was given to the Prime Minister on Pakistani pavilion and its various portions. The Prime Minister emphasized that during the Expo, special attention should be paid to highlighting the abundant investment opportunities in Pakistan. Special focus should be given to projects like Ravi River Project, Central Business District as well as tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Northern Areas, promotion of domestic mineral resources, IT, religious tourism and attracting international investment in these sectors. With the active participation of all provinces including Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, important provincial projects should be highlighted during the expo: PM's directive The Prime Minister directed all the provincial governments to finalize the preparations for the expo as soon as possible.
