Federal Minister for Science and Technology Shibli Faraz visited COMSTECH secretariat, today. Coordinator General COMSTECH, Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary gave a detailed presentation to the Federal Minister on COMSTECH establishment, aims and objectives, past achievements, present programmes and future initiatives of the organisation. While appreciating the efforts of COMSTECH, Federal Minister emphasized that COMSTECH must devise future plans for the socio-economic development of Ummah through the application of science and technology. He also stressed the need for cooperation among the universities of the member countries in order to benefit from the experiences of each other. He stated that the culture of research for the sake of research must be discouraged and our focus should be on the research leading to overall development.
