On the direction of Federal Minister' for National health Aamer Mehamood Kiani Ministry Health has issued directed to Islamabad health authorities to improve preparedness level to fight dengue. Minister directed to have preparation plans at hospitals for management of dengue cases focusing on preventive care, diagnostic facilities, availability of beds along with treatment protocols. Also conduct larva prevention and control measures in their respective premises (breading site identification, sprays and others). Moreover, all institutes are directed to devise management protocol of dengue fever, in line with WHO guidelines, under intimation to this Office by Wednesday 10th April 2019 closing of business positively. Minister said the twin-cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are located in endemic zone for dengue and there is always risk of outbreak of dengue in Islamabad. Every year there many local and imported cases of dengue in Islamabad are reported. Dengue Fever (DF) and Dengue Hemorrhagic fever (DHF) are the fastest emerging mosquito-borne arboviral infections since 2005/06 in Pakistan. There have been some severe outbreaks of dengue in some parts of the country. Although during recent few years the severity (mortality and morbidity) of disease has reduced in country, however there is still some areas which are the risk of dengue outbreak in country. ***** ?
