Federal Minister for National Health Services, Aamer Mehmood Kiani visited NADRA’s call center which is being used by the Ministry to inform SehatSahulat Program beneficiaries about the health card and to take feedback from patients regarding the services delivered to them by empaneled hospitals during their admission. During his visit he called few beneficiaries and personally informed them about the health card and from where they can collect it. He also called few beneficiaries and inquire about the services provided to them in hospitals. He also assured to beneficiaries that Ministry will leave no stone unturned to provide best possible health care services to its enrolled families. In line with vision of Prime Minister’s Universal Health Coverage, Ministry of National Health Service, Regulations and Coordination, is working to expand its health initiative of “Sehat Sahulat Program” to all districts in Pakistan. Through this initiative poor families will be provided with free of cost health insurance to secure indoor health care services worth Rs: 720,000/- from empaneled hospitals. The program will provide “SehatInsaf Card” to 10 million families through a very transparent and computerized mechanism. The services which are available from SehatInsaf Card includes open heart surgeries, insertion of stunts, management of cancer, neurosurgical procures, burn management, accident management, dialysis, intensive care management, deliveries, C section and other medical / surgical procedures. The program will also provide Rs: 1,000 transportation cost to its beneficiaries on their discharge from hospital. During the visit Mr. Usman Mobin, Chairman NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) was also present and gave comprehensive overview to Minister on services offered to Ministry for the implementation of SehatSahulat Program. In the end he briefed to media that that this scheme will bring robust improvement in access to quality treatment by poorest and under privileged marginalized population of Pakistan. It is estimated that as many as 10 million families living in Pakistan below the poverty line will benefit from this scheme. In the end he thanked NADRA team for providing their dynamic services to the country and vowed that Ministry, under his supervision, will work day and night to assure the success of this program in providing benefits to the people of Pakistan. *****
