PR No.73 Marvi Memon Emphasis To Strengthen Existing Relations Between Medical Institutions Of Nepal And Pakistan Kathmandu: March 9, 2016

College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) in cooperation with the Nepal Medical Council organized a dinner for senior Nepali medical professionals educated/trained in Pakistan.

Minister of State and Chairperson BISP, MNA Marvi Memon, while speaking on the occasion applauded the existing relations between the medical institutions of the two countries and stressed the need for their further enhancement, including through institutional linkages and an increased number of Nepalese medical students in Pakistan.

The Ambassador of Pakistan Mazhar Javed urged the Nepali doctors to make maximum use of the extraordinary facilities offered by the Pakistani higher medical institutions in particular the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP). Dr. Dharma Kanta Baskota, President, Nepal Medical Council and regional head of CPSP appreciated the role of CPSP in the field of medical education in Nepal.

Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, Senior Vice-President, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan gave detailed presentation on the recent progress in the field of higher education in Pakistan and the facilities available to Nepalese medical graduates.

The event was attended by over 70 senior medical consultants/deans/ professors working at various Nepalese institutions and graduated from Pakistan.

The Chairperson BISP is visiting Nepal in connection with International Women Day being organized by International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD).
