PR No.72 Iranian Ambassador Calls On Minister For Water & Power Islamabad: March 9, 2016

Mr. Mehdi Honardoost, Ambassador of Iran called on Muhammad Asif Federal Minister for Water & Power and Defence.

During the call areas of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation in the field of energy, trade, business and defence came under discussion.

Speaking on the occasion Federal Minister said the Pakistan and Iran being brotherly neighboring countries are enjoying closed cordial relation in different fields. He said that his country is looking forward for the schedule visit (25th, 26th March 2016) of Hon’able President of Iran and hoped that it would further strengthen the relations between the two countries.

The Minister also highlighted the importance of CPEC Project and said that CPEC is the most important artery in the region and stressed that all the regional countries should make their planning to get maximum benefit from it.

He said that Pakistan will play its positive role to bring peace in the region.

Both the sides agreed that due to lack of economic activities in the region the phenomena of terrorism increasing.

The Iranian side inform that after the lifting of foreign sanction the country have a great potential for investment and priority would be given to neighboring countries.

“The essence of Pak-Iran friendship would be materialized in the form of some projects and the Iran Pakistan Gas Pipeline is one of the best projects in this regard”, he added.
