Islamabad: August 11, 2017

Ambassador of Rwanda, Lt. Gen Charles R. Kayonga Charles, called on Additional Secretary Defence, Maj. General Muhammad Abid Nazir in Ministry of Defence, Rawalpindi today.

Additional Secretary Defence stated that Pakistan is keen to build strong relationship with Rwanda. He proposed exchange of defence delegations between the two countries and emphasized to avail training courses by Rwanda in Pakistan Armed Forces training institutions. Forecast of training courses being held in various training institutions of Pakistan Armed Forces may be shared if required.

He also highlighted Pakistan’s contribution towards African stability, where Pak Army is the highest contributor of troops in UN Missions, and offered assistance to Rwanda Army in training its Special Forces, Counter Terrorism Force and building Counter IED capability.

During the meeting he also highlighted Pakistan’s contributions in Global War on Terror through Operation Zarb-e-Azb, National Action Plan and Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
