NOT TO BE PUBLISHED/BROADCAST AND TELECAST BEFORE THE MORNING OF 27TH OCTOBER 2018 PR No. 205 Message by the Minister Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan on Kashmir Black Day (27th October 2018) Islamabad: October 26, 2018

On 27th October, Indian forces landed in Srinagar to occupy and oppress the innocent people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IoK) in a clear violation of international law. Since then, India has continued to deny the people of Jammu and Kashmir their right to self determination and subjected them to the worst kind of human rights violations and oppression. The United Nations Security Council through several of its resolutions has validated the Kashmiris’ right to decide their future through a fair and impartial plebiscite. The plight of the Kashmiris has been further reaffirmed by the first ever report of the office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) on the situation in Jammu & Kashmir. In-spite of barbaric Indian atrocities and apathy on behalf of a large part of the international community, the brave people of Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir have demonstrated exemplary resilience and grit in the face of perverse Indian aggression. It is to commemorate that grit and spirit that on the occasion of Kashmir Black day, we reiterate our firm and continued moral, diplomatic and political support to the people of IoK in their sacred struggle and will not give it up until they achieve their legitimate right of self determination.
