Vice Chancellor, University of Poonch Rawalakot called on Sardar Masood Khan, President of AJK at Camp Office Islamabad. Dr. Rasool apprised the President on academic affairs, administrative issues and further informed about ongoing developments taking place in the University.
Dr. Rasool briefed the President on the accreditation visit of the Pakistan Engineering Council team. Their report spoke highly of the quality of graduates and the availability of related facilities. The University had scored well in every area and as a result the program will soon be accredited.
The VC informed the accreditation of the Pharmacy Department has also been initiated and the department will soon be accredited by the Pakistan Pharmacy Council.
The President also desired that infrastructure at of all campuses of the University of Poonch may be upgraded in order to facilitate the students. He said, “Quality higher education is a priority that cannot be compromised upon”
The VC updated the President regarding progress on the construction of boundary walls of Shamsabad and Trar campuses which he said were almost complete. Similarly, detail drawing and BOQs (Bill of Quantities) for the construction of academic block and girls hostel at Trar and Chota Gala campuses is in progress.
To ensure participation of all stake holder in the decision making, the VC informed that the meeting of all the statutory bodies are now being held regularly .
The President expressed his satisfaction on the development taking place at the University of Poonch.
