The two-day training workshop on “strategic communication” organized by the Pakistan Peace Collective (PPC) a project of Ministry of Information &Broadcasting concluded here this afternoon at the Pakistan Provincial Services Academy (PPSA), Peshawar. The Two-day training workshop focused upon developing the skills and knowledge of government officers on how to interact with media in crisis situation. It was also intended to help the officers to understand the role of media in conveying the details and facts about any incident of violence which could lead to a crisis situation. The training was conducted by senior professionals and experts in the field of strategic communication. Mr. Ihsan Ghani, former National Coordinator NACTA and Dr. Sheharyar Khan wear among the keynote Speakers, who elaborated upon the role of NACTA in developing national narrative to counter violent extremism and the role of social media in CVE, respectively. The participants took keen interest in the interactive sessions as well as simulation exercises meant to build their confidence in managing media during any national and local level emergency. The participants appreciated the module of the training and lauded the initiative of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. They considered it as service to the country to help in developing a meaningful communication mechanism for government officials. This was the fourth training workshop arranged by the Pakistan Peace Collective at the PPSA, Peshawar. The Director General of PPSA and senior members of the advisory board of the project also addressed the participants at the concluding session.
